Commentator: “The wheels and tires are all also inspected as part of the Honda certified
used inspection process. First, the tire sizes are recorded on
the mechanical checklist to be later checked against the OEM size indicator for the vehicle.
The mechanic then checks and adjusts to specification, the tire
pressure. Each tire is then carefully inspected for physical damage, as well as any cracking
that is occurring in both the side wall, and the tread areas. The
mechanic then carefully the tread area, looking for signs of uneven tire wear. These signs
could indicate suspension or alignment concerns that would have to be
addressed. The mechanic also pays close attention to the rim to ensure there’s no physical damage,
and to ensure that the rim finish is in good condition.
Finally, using a tread depth gauge, the mechanic measures and records the tire tread depth
and will later check it against the specifications to ensure it
exceeds the requirements.” [end]
