Watching The Wheels – John Lennon

People say I’m crazy Doing what I’m doing They give me all kinds of warnings To save me from ruin When I say that I’m o.k. they look at me kind of strange Surely you’re not happy now you no longer play the game People say I’m crazy Dreaming my life away Well they give me all kinds of advice Designed to enlighten me When I tell that I’m doing Fine watching shadows on the wall Don’t you miss the big time boy you’re no longer on the ball? I’m just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round I really love to watch them roll No longer riding on the merry-go-round I just had to let it go People asking questions lost in confusion Well I tell them there’s no problem Only solutions Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I’ve lost my mind I tell them there’s no hurry… I’m just sitting here doing time I’m just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round I really love to watch them roll No longer riding on the merry-go-round I just had to let it go I just had to let it go I just had to let it go

  5. Has there ever been a more truthful artist? His fears, concerns, all of them right there for us to commiserate with. Beautiful.

  6. John Lennon began as a nowhere man than the most famous musician but killed but I say don’t regret his death try to be a better pirson

  7. Why didn't he give a shit about his other son? What was so much more special about this one than the other? Lennon was a douche lord. Maybe he thought he did the world such a huge favor by having a half Asian kid with tranny lookin Yoko, lmao, that really solved the world peace issue

  8. Currently in New York City. Still sad to think we lost one of our best. One of our talented. Way too early. RIP John. We all love you.

  9. This track brings back so many memories. I was 13, (about to turn 14 in the summer of '81), when this came out and was just discovering The Beatles, and the then, solo artist John Lennon. As much as I liked the track, I didn't appreciate it enough at the time, that this was an ex-Beatle, John Lennon composition, being released in my puberty years. Now…it amazes me…that I was living and aware, during a time, when a 'new', John Lennon track was being released. Along with '(Just Like) Starting Over', 'Woman', and 'Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)'; these tracks were played on the radio airwaves all summer long in 1981. The year I turned 14. When I hear any of these tracks…I am transported right back to that time and place. Such a treat. The Beatles…the greatest band of all-time.

  10. Not a Beatles fan matter of fact cant really stand thier music. That said my father used to play this and sing along and now im 43 and when i hear this i think of dad and shed some tears. Thank you Mr. Lennon for keeping my father with me no matter how much time passes.

    AMEN.

  12. My son was born 10 days ago and we have named him Lennon. Happy birthday john R.I.P. you still are the greatest. 👍
