Trailer Hitch Installation – 2005 Toyota Highlander – Curt – etrailer.com

Today on our 2005 Toyota Highlander, we’ll
be installing the Curt hitch, part number 13530. This is what our hitch will look like once
it’s installed. Next, we’ll go ahead and give you a couple
measurements to assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the
outer most edge of the bumper, it’s 2 inches. To the top of the insider receiver tube opening
to the ground is 13 inches. This will assist you with selecting accessories
such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. Now, let’s go ahead with installation. Before we can begin installing the hitch,
we’ll need to remove the toe hook brackets. There’s one on each side. Starting here on the driver’s side, we’ll
remove the two fasteners and then the bracket. We’ll also remove the forward attachment point
plug put in the frame by the manufacturer.
