Rhode Gear Highway Hitch Bike Rack Review – 2003 Honda CR-V – etrailer.com

Today, we’ve got a 2003 Honda CR-V and we’re
test fitting the Rhode Gear Highway 2 Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RG8015220. To mount the carrier to our vehicle, we’ll
insert the shank into the receiver tube of the hitch. We’ll line up the hitch pin holes, thread
in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten down using a wrench. Next, we’ll check for rear vehicle access. We’ll pull the pin at the base of the bike
rack and tilt it down. We’ll open the cargo door of our CR-V to make
sure we can still access our cargo area. We won’t be able to open the cargo door or
access the cargo area with this bike rack installed. With that done, we’ll put the bike rack back
up and go over some clearance measurements. We’ve got 12-3/4 inches clearance from the
bottom of the bike rack to the ground. We’ve got about 1 inch of clearance between
the bike rack and the spare tire, and from the spare tire back, we’ve added about 19-1/4
inches to the rear of our vehicle. Now, we can load up our bike.
