How To Read a Car Tire Sidewall

– Hi YouTube, this is Jess. In this video, we’re going to
show you how to read a tire. (instrumental music) (brakes screeching) On this tire, it says that
it is a P195/60R15 87H. Now the P stands for a passenger vehicle. This 195 is the width
from side to side here. The 60 is your percentage of
the side here to the width of the tire. And the R means it’s a radial. Your 15 here is your diameter
from inside to inside, the size of your rim. 87 here is your weight capacity. And the H here is the
maximum on your speed. With it being an H, it’s going to be 130. And as always, thanks
for watching the video. Look forward to seeing
you in the next one. Like, share, subscribe, and see you later.
