How To Prevent A Tire Blowout

Hi folks it’s Mike with getmytips.com
with a tip for you that could help you prevent a tire
blowout and you getting stranded alongside the road. We’re going to show
you how to check your tire pressure while you’re filling up with gas. You
might as well you’ve got nothing else to do. But we’re going to show you how to
check your tire pressure without ever getting your hands dirty, and without
using a tire pressure gauge. Every year in the United States, thousands and
thousands of tires blow out because they are under inflated. And a lot of those
under inflated tire blowouts result in a traffic crash or somebody getting stuck
alongside the road. If you own a vehicle manufactured after 2008, the odds are
pretty good that you have a tire pressure monitoring system. But did you know that each tire has a battery in it for that system to function. So how do you know if the tire pressure monitoring system is working properly. One thing you can do
while you are filling up with fuel, and that’s why I said before, you have
nothing else to do where you’re at the gas station, you can use an infrared a
temperature sensor to check the temperature of the tires after you have
been driving down the highway. If you have a tire on your car or truck that is
low on pressure, it will show an increase the temperature compared to the other
four tires. So all you need to do is use a temperature sensor like this to check
the temperature of the tires. And while you’re walking around checking all four
tires, if you see one tire is hotter than the others, then you need to check the
tire pressure. In our case here the tires that were facing the Sun are hotter than
the other two tires that were in the shadows.
Nf you are wondering what your tire pressure should be, open the driver’s
door and check on the driver’s door or where the driver door closes. And finally
using a temperature sensor like this is absolutely invaluable if you happen to
own a big rig with dual tires, or you happen to tow a trailer or a camper, or
you have a motor home that tows a vehicle. If you would like to purchase
one of these infrared temperature guns, we’ll put a link in the video
description. Well there you go folks, a very easy way to help you prevent a
blowout on the highway. Now if you learned something here today I invite
you to subscribe so that when we post another video you’ll be notified. Thanks
