How to make Chocolate Cupcakes | Cupcake Jemma


Hello everyone, it’s me Jemma, and I have got the easiest Tastiest moist-iest chocolate cupcake recipe you’ll ever ever gonna find Ever I’ve got some plain flour here I’ve got 350 grams. I’m just going to sieve it all together In a big bowl And then I put 370 grams of caster sugar 60 grams of cocoa powder And then a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda and a half teaspoon of salt And then I’m just gonna shuffle that around with my sieve so that it’s all Mixed together And 150 grams of dark chocolate chips, and then I just want to mix up a little bit So I’m going to use a whisk for that Just make sure it’s all kind of going the same color So, that’s all our dry mix together Now, we’ll just put that to one side and we can mix our wet stuff together So, grab another bowl And I have a cup of coffee Now, if you might have a cafeteria of coffee knocking about, if you don’t Then just and put a tablespoon of instant coffee into a cup of hot water And then wait for it to cool down before you start mixing, otherwise, that’s gonna cook the eggs So, here we go Coffee And then I have 225 milliliters of vegetable oil and that goes in with the coffee And then I’ve got a cup of buttermilk You can just get a buttermilk at a supermarket in the kind of creamy Creamy aisle Just whack that in Then we also need some eggs So, just three large eggs Just whack it straight in Right and then using your whisk just Mix it all together just stab those yolks and just mix it all — it will look a bit gross, but that’s okay It’s going to look amazing when it bakes So, just make sure it’s all mixed three together with your whisk And that’s it easy-peasy now, We’re gonna add the dry to the wet, shuffle it in And get stirring it’s really simple Okay, so once it’s all mixed together and nice and sloppy and lovely and chocolatey You’re gonna need to transfer it into a jug Because it gets really messy trying to pour this into the cupcake cases So, grab a nice big jug and with a nice pointy felt and just pour as much as you can It’s like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, it’s like the Chocolate River Chocolate River So, I’ve got two cupcake tins lying with cupcake cases and this mixture makes them 24 cupcakes So, there’s plenty to show and just be really careful as you go don’t like Gush it all in because it’s just gonna go everywhere And I’m gonna fill these up to about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way up I’m using my spoon catching the drip so go slow This is gonna take a little while, so let’s speed it up Now it’s time to bake them And I’ve preheated my oven to 160 degrees Celsius, and I’m gonna bake them for 24 minutes They’re ready, so we’re gonna get them out of the oven and we’re gonna leave them to cool They’re out the oven they’ve had about 20 minutes to cool down And they’re ready to eat, and I’m not gonna waste any time I’m gonna Get one in my face, so Look at that I’m gonna get a bit of squishy bit right in the middle Hmm oh, that’s so – oh so tasty, really chocolatey, really moist, really squishy and delicious and so easy Like the easiest thing in the world The only thing that’s gonna make this better is if you slap a bunch of chocolate buttercream on it And if you want to learn how to make chocolate buttercream then click the link now And while you’re doing that I’ll just go sneak a little bit more in And if you liked this video, and you want to see more videos by me Then don’t forget to subscribe to my channel It’s free and it’s brilliant Obviously So, thanks for watching Bye If you want to subscribe to my channel then click subscribe now

  2. NO NO NO NO NO ! Every recipe I have tried has failed terribly. I do not believe I do anything differently and I weigh on electronic scales. I used an oven thermometer. 160 24 mins and no where near cooked. Maybe that is because the oven you use is a commercial oven. Mine are now kind of cooked after 34 mins and the bottoms are dripping with vegetable oil. The bin thanks you my wallet and precious time do not.

  4. I've made these sooooooo many times now with different fillings and everyone loves them, so easy to make and no need for the big mixer, always a bonus 🙂

  5. Before watching this video i have watched ur "whats wrong with my cupcakes" in that u mentioned cupcakes with peaky points in the centre r nt perfect..then why do i see peaky pointed centers in these chocolates cupcakes..🤔 iam really confused!! 🤕

  14. Looking at the video a few times now; the cup of coffee mixture looks like less than half of the veg oil, sooooo if 1 cup is equal to 250ml x 2 = 500ml.. so yes, I am thinking our Jemma has 445ml of veg oil in that video…. any comments?

  15. I love the flavour the chocolate chips give the sponge but I was hoping they would completely melt into the sponge to flavour the whole sponge and not just the parts with the chips. Has anyone tried adding melted chocolate instead of chocolate chips into the mixture? Did the cakes turn out okay?

  19. I'm curious as to why there is no baking powder in this recipe. I just made it and I found it to be dense/rubbery almost. I weighed everything out accordingly but maybe my measuring cups are slightly larger so the liquid portions were off.

  26. I made these cupcakes finally!!! They’re cooling still so I haven’t tried them yet. I had to thrift store hunt for a scale cause I didn’t have one and you go by weight… after finally getting one and rewatching the video I realized I didn’t have buttermilk!! So another couple weeks went by and then I finally got the buttermilk… and realized caster sugar was different from granulated… so waited and waited and finally googled what the difference was and “how to make your own” needless to say I’ve had quite the adventure just trying to be able to make these cupcakes 😂

Hey I always keep watching ur videos n I love thm very much I saw u "what goes wrong with my cup cakes" n thn I watched ur vanilla cupcakes recipe video… The cupcakes were beautiful but here in this video I noticed one thing n thot to share with u n ask u… As u said in ur perfect cupcakes recipe tht cupcakes shouldnt rise like volcanos in the middle but these chocolate cup cakes have risen, although ur vanilla cupcakes weren't, so what about these then??? Is there any other rule for chocolate? I learn a lot from ur videos kindly help me in this as well thanx 😊

  30. Ok so… God knows I’ve tried hundreds of baking recipes in my life. Don’t look elsewhere. This is THE recipe for chocolate cupcakes. I was honestly so impressed with the final result. So soft and comforting…
    And I didn’t have buttermilk so I mixed milk with one tablespoon of lemon juice!
    I’m keeping this recipe on my night stand. It’s that good😂

  38. Holy sh*t! I just made these and they turned out so f*cking amazing! I didn't have store bought buttermilk so I made it with heavy whipping cream. The batter will seem a bit more thin with homemade buttermilk- but it bakes perfectly!

  39. I made a terrible mistake (I'm not a english native speaker) and bake 'em at a really high temperature. Fortunately I realized on time and saved the cupcakes. Really delicious. Oh, I also used lactose-free milk instead of buttercream and took away some sugar because I'm not much of a sweet tooth person. I wish I had read the correction on the oil measure before, but they turned out ok.

  41. i just tried this recipe and it is moist but a little too moist to the point of being gummy and sticks to roof of your mouth. i thought it was underbaked so i popped it back in oven for 10 more minutes but still the same texture. anyone knows what went wrong?
