Assembling your Elux…

Hello, I’m Jerry from Elux Bikes, I’m
one of the founders, and I’m here to show you how easy it is to build a Tahoe electric
bike. Alright, so if you see this box, this is how
it arrives. This is the Tahoe and it comes in this big
box so that the front wheel and the fender’s already put on, so all you’ve got to do
is put the handlebars and the pedals on, remove the wrapping and then you’re rolling down
the road. The tools you need are scissors to cut the
straps, and a box cutter to open the end of the box so you can roll the bike out of the
end. Ok, let’s cut the straps. All right, so we cut the straps, you just
open up the box and you’re going to take a look inside and see your beautiful bike. Now the easiest way to get the bike out of
the box is to cut open the end, and then just roll the bike out. Let me show you; and you use a box cutter
to do that. This is the way the bike comes out of the
box. All we’ve got to do now is cut the handle
bars loose with the tie straps, with some scissors. There are two tie straps on each side, and
then remove the box off the back. Set it aside, and then just remove all the
materials from the handle bars. It’s just got some simple tape on it that
you can snap; and you want to keep a trash can handy because there’s a fair amount
of packing on these bikes. Ok, so all you’ve got to do is put the handle
bars in the slot, push down on the bolts, so that it doesn’t lock in place. Slide it in, and then just go ahead and tighten
it so that it locks it in place. These have to be extremely tight so that they
don’t slip when you’re turning, but you usually you do that after you’ve finished
the adjustments. Ok, so then what you want to do is straighten
out the handle bars; just make them so they’re level. Then tighten this up, and then go ahead and
tighten the bottom bolt. Then check the top Make sure they are very
tight. This is the parts and accessories box, when
you open it up you’ll see it has the pedals in there wrapped up, and then here’s the
parts bag then, and you’ll have the cap for the stem right here and some tools, if
you don’t have any tools to put the bike together. And then there’s a strap that goes on the
back rack, and this box is the charger for the battery. We’re going to remove the padding, and be
back in just a minute. Ok, that’s it for the padding, now we get
to put the pedals on. Now, there’s a left and a right pedal, and
you need to make sure you don’t mix them up because they’re totally different pedals. This is a left hand pedal with an L on the
end, and it goes on the left hand side of the bike. So, if you are sitting on the bike, you want
it to be on your left hand, and then all you do is screw it in to where the top goes toward
the front of the bike, and that’s how the left hand pedal goes in. Ok, this is the left hand pedal and the left
hand thread, so you tighten it pushing down from this position. Then do the final tightening with a 15mm wrench. Ok, so go ahead and straighten out the handlebars. We go ahead and loosen them up a little bit,
straighten it out. Usually it works best if you have them between
your knees. Then just adjust the handlebars until they’re
straight. Then go ahead and tighten it up, basically
as tight as you can because this is an important part of the bike. Then you go ahead and put the cap in and you
are done. Ok, the keys are on the side of the bike with
the tire rack. Go ahead and cut them loose with some scissors,
and then the keys go right in the battery here and you need to turn it so it’s straight
up and down with the battery, so it turns on the power to the bike. So, I just go ahead and put the cargo strap
on. There we go. All right, let’s go ahead and pull of the
protective plastic off the display, and all we have to do now is turn on the bike using
this top left button and that turns on the computer and once it’s booted up we are
ready to ride. Ok, now all you got to do now is check the
air pressure of the tires, and you’re ready to ride off. For more information, or to see our entire
